Saltmine - Bad Ischl

We went to the Salt Mine in Bad Aussee today.
It was founded in 1319 AD.
After a half-mile hike into the mountain....
we arrived at the Barbara Chapel.
Saint Barbara is the protector saint of miners.
This mine housed the artworks of the art museum in Vienna during World War II.
It is featured in the movie "The Monuments Men".
At the end we took a slide down.
Then we drove to Bad Ischl and went to Zauner's, the Imperial sweet shop.
We tried a couple of cakes.
After that we visited the Kaiser Villa.
Emperor Franz Joseph spent 60 summers there.
It is still owned by the descendants of Franz Joseph and Sissi.
We took a walk along the Traun river.
